Home Health Aide (HHA)

The Home Health Aide (HHA) program in Florida is designed to provide trained caregivers to assist individuals with daily living activities in the comfort of their own homes.

Training Requirements:

A Home Health Aide (HHA) is a trained caregiver who provides assistance with daily living activities to individuals in their homes.

HHAs must complete a minimum of 75 hours of training, including:

  • 16 hours of classroom instruction
  • 16 hours of supervised practical training
  • 43 hours of on-the-job training
  • Training programs must be approved by the Florida Department of Education
